多泡綱　Polycystinea

珪質の骨格の形は多様。栄養成長期には厚いカプセル状の膜に包まれる。

ポリキスティナ（多泡綱）、パエオダリア（濃彩綱）、アカンタリア（棘針綱）の３綱は海産でプランクトン的生活をするグループ。 これらはかつて放散虫綱あるいは放散虫目（Radiolaria）としてひとつのグループにまとめられてい たが、電子顕微鏡観察の結果から、これらの類似性は収斂進化の結果であって、おたがいの関係は うすいことがわかってきた。

コロスファエラ目 　Spumellarida	中心にあるカプセル（capsule）は一般に球形。油滴などが内質＆外質に充満している。Sporogenesisがみられる。 Swarmersには strontium sulfate の結晶がある。
ケントロクブス目 　Cryptoaxoplastida	核を囲む小胞体の外側にたくさんの小さな axoplastsがある。
ペラゴスファエラ目 　Centroaxoplastida	Axoplastsは核内にある。軸足は核内に達する。microsphereも核内。
キルチドスファエラ目 　Periaxoplastida	Axoplastsは核の脇にある。microsphereはその axoplastの側にあるが，基本的にはカプセル内。 Stereoplasmic axis of prismatic meshes はボトリオペラ目とほぼ同じ。
ボトリオペラ目 　Nassellarida	中心のカプセルの構造（軸足，骨格を含む）が他の目と異なる。 中心のカプセルは卵形。

「五つの王国」ではこの綱は２つの目、スプメラリア目（Spumellaria）とナセラリア目（Nassellaria） に分けられる、としている。他については言及していない。
