1. 形態
   外部形態
   細胞分裂の際に起こる stomatogenesis の過程で口部装置は退化する (oral regression)。
   細胞体の繊毛は monokinetidsか、もしくは dikinetidsか、もしくは polykinetids。
   細胞は卵型かやや四角形。上下に平たい。背中には dikinetidsがある。 腹側には棘毛（ cirral polykinetids ）がある。cirriは腹側全体にある。

   細胞は平ら。口部域は腹側にある。
   左側の縁棘毛（marginal cirri）は少ない（１つの fileのみ）。尾部棘毛はある （例外；Certeseiaにはない）。 尾部の棘毛（cirri）はほぼ左右対称にある。口部の右側に大きな１つのoral polykinetidsがある。
