|  Genus: Cell body ovoid or cylindrical; oral ridge turns right-spirally down to posterior end (Kudo, 1966).  
Oral region spirals around body from anterior to posterior end (Illustrated Guide, 1985). Species: 
Cell body ovoid, 30-60 μm long, 20-45 μm wide when starved, 
well-fed cells 65-120 μm long, 50-110 μm wide; 
spiral ridge complete turn; cytostome in the anterior end of the ridge, with a number of delicate trichites; 
macronucleus ovoid to elongate; a single micronucleus; contractile vacuole terminal; fresh water 
(Kudo, 1966).
