surface granulated, no collar but periphery of the opening thickened,
4-5 chloroplasts cup-shaped, with a pyrenoid covered by paramylon sheath

Lorica spherical or ovoid, slightly narrowed to anterior end, 20-25 μm long, 16-18 μm wide;
surface dotted; collar absent but periphery of flagellar opening thickened
