* Plagiocampa incisa  Kahl, 1933: 
Cell body ovoid but not symmetrical, 50 μm long; 
cytopharyngeal apparatus small; single caudal cilium; a large macronucleus in the mid-body region; 
a single contractile vacuole posteriorly (Carey, 1992).  
Plagiocampa rouxi Kahl, 1926: 
Cell body ovoid, pointed posteriorly, 40-80 μm long; 
apical rfegion with cytoplasmic processes; a single caudal cilium; many vacuoles fill the cytoplasm; 
a single contractile vacuole posteriorly (Carey, 1992).
