Genus: Cell body rigid; with one emergent flagellum; no ingestion organelle; phagotrophic; sessile (Larsen & Patterson, 1990).
Species:

Dolium sp. or similar species, cell body 25 μm long, 8 μm wide, anterior bluntly truncated, pellicle slightly twisted with longitudinal ridges, a single flagellum about 12 μm long, x 400, x 640, Uruguay, collected 1999, photo August 2000, by Y. Tsukii

Dolium sedentarium Larsen & Patterson, 1990: Cell body vase-shaped, 40-47 μm long, 20-24 μm wide, slightly flattened, narrowing posteriorly where it attached to the substrate, slightly flared anteriorly, rigid; six prominet, longitudinal ridges extending the length of the cell; two flagella, but only one emerging; phagotrophic (Larsen & Patterson, 1990).
