Species: Cell body (outline of cellwall) broad ellipsoidal, both ends rounded; protoplast ellipsoidal or spindle-shaped; cellwall thin; length of flagella nearly the same as that of cell body; chloroplast cup-shaped; with a single pyrenoid; stigma absent; two contractile vacuoles apical (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
