Vaucher var. princeps

Oscillatoria princeps Family: Trichome (filamentous structure) lacks heterocysts; with equal diameter throughout whole length; no hair-like structure; no branching.
Genus: Trichome without mucous sheath; straight, long, consisting of numerous cells (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).

Species: Cells 16-60 μm (usually 40-50 μm) in diam., 3.5-7 μm long (Photomicrographs of the Freshwater Algae, vol. 4, 1985).
