Chloromonas Genus: Similar to Chlamydomonas, but pyrenoids absent.
Species: Cell body ellipsoid or ellipsoidal cylindroid, 15-20 μm long, 8-13 μm wide; cellwall thin; papilla hemispherical; flagella up to 1.5 times longer than the body length; chloroplast cup-shaped, reached at the base of flagella; stigma small, elliptical in shape, located posterior to equator; a nucleus located at posterior one third of the cell body (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
